Transcontinental Printing has an opening for a Regular Full-time Maintenance Electrician. This position is shift work and the rate of pay is $37.23 per hour as per the Unifor 780G collective agreement.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician’s role is to provide preventative maintenance services for the plan equipment. Design and install control circuits. Troubleshoot and repair of equipment (i.e. Printing Presses, Gas Fired Web Dryers, etc). Participate in safety and communication meetings. Provide electrician on call duties. Maintain environmental emission controls. Maintain constructive relationships with internal customers and suppliers. Advise, assist and drive change initiatives. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Maintain open dialogue with maintenance and production managers by identifying concerns and opportunities for improvement. Understand and practice the application of company culture and values. Provide information to managers, supervisors and team leaders in a constructive manner. Adhere to 5S workplace organization standards, comply with safety policies and procedures, ensure that all Health and Safety standards are understood and practiced in a safe manner and other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Interprovincial Red Seal Certification as an Electrician; High School Diploma or GED; Minimum 5 years experience in a Manufacturing environment at a Journeyman level; Knowledge of PLC software (i.e. Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB) and how to design electrical systems and repair electrical equipment; Computer literate (Microsoft Office); Print Industry experience (considered a strong asset); Fall Protection and Confined Space Course; WHMIS and the ability to work 12-hour rotating continental shifts (day & night).
