CSR (Customer Service Representative) Job Posting

Job Description:

The Penticton Herald is seeking a well organized, detail oriented individual with fantastic time management skills to fill the role of Customer Service Representative.

As a CSR you will be working in a fast-paced office environment where multi-tasking is a must. Attention to detail while adhering to strict deadlines is required. You will need to be able to deal calmly and effectively with clients and colleagues.

This is an entry level position within a unionized environment and salary is as per the union contract.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Receiving orders from clients for classified advertising by telephone, email and in person. Create, produce and design classified display advertising and obituary notices using In Design software.

Conduct daily classified advertising processes and procedures within a designated timeline. Administrative and varied clerical operations and departmental support.


Accurate and speedy keyboarding skills.

Solid computer experience and comfort with PCs and Macs. Ability and confidence to learn new software programs.

Confidence being on the front line, speaking with clients and fulfilling their advertising requests while they are on the phone with you.

Excellent time management

Positive and pleasant demeanour in person and on the telephone. Accurate grammar and listening skills.

Administrative skills including balancing daily cash receipts
