Vancouver Sun and The Province crime reporter Kim Bolan has been nominated for a 2025 National Newspaper Award.

 

The veteran journalist is a finalist for the Norman Webster award for international reporting, one of 23 categories in the NNAs, which honours the best journalism in daily newspapers and digital publications in Canada.

 

For the five-part series Bolan travelled to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Southeast Asia to examine the international reach of B.C.’s criminal organizations. The series, which was published in January 2024, was enabled by funding from the Lieutenant-governor’s Journalism Fellowship.
