Negotiations for a new collective agreement continue with Pacific Newspaper Group. Over the last few weeks, union and company negotiators have met several times to discuss terms for a new collective agreement.
Much of our discussion in the last several sessions has concerned issues in the pressroom at Kennedy Heights. There are other important issues that remain to be discussed in some of the larger departments, such as the mailroom, editorial and advertising.
We have not yet had significant discussions on commons issues such as wages, or length of contract. Bargaining is likely to be slower during the summer months, but the parties remain committed to trying to reach a reasonable collective agreement. In the meantime, your current contract remains in effect, until such time as we negotiate a new agreement with the company.

Local 2000 President
