The Bowen Island Undercurrent has an immediate opening for a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time journalist.
We are a community newspaper that serves the island community of Bowen, just a 20-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver. We’re looking for a motivated individual to deliver solid news coverage and compelling photos from this vibrant and growing community, and work to break important stories that matter to our readers.
Duties will include sourcing and writing a wide variety of stories; taking compelling, eye-catching photos; keeping our community updated by posting on all our online platforms, and laying out and editing our weekly print product.
The successful applicant must be resourceful, efficient, self-reliant, social media-savvy and have excellent news judgment. News media experience is essential. Knowledge of Photoshop and InDesign would be an asset.
