Members at Mitchell Press voted 68% in favour of accepting the Employers offer on a new four (4) year deal which saw them go from a 32 hour week to a 37.5 hour week.
There was an overall wage reduction as well as the elimination of the weekend shift; all Members shall now work Monday to Friday.
While other concessions were agreed to most members shall make a larger yearly salary due to the increased work week.
The Employer had issued the union with notice that it intended to lay off a number of employees under section 54 of the Labour Code if it could not achieve efficiencies. The result of the vote means there shall now be no layoffs.
The new Collective Agreement expires January 31st 2021.
