1 Vacancy available for Journeyman Pressman – Regular Part Time
Rate of Pay: $35.91 as per the Unifor Local 780G Agreement.
Responsible for the printing of quality products within the deadlines using established processes and procedures. Candidate must exhibit job relevant knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties and requirements of a Pressman. Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of job duties, work practices, policies, procedures and equipment. This includes a demonstrated ability to train an develop others using strong verbal communication skills. Must be able to set up and operate the press, provide general maintenance to the press, maintain quality of product during production. Ability to complete the following: Standard press time sheets, bundle count, M/R Checklist, Weekly Safety Checklist, Inventory and Usage Reports. Must have a strong understanding of Globetek and Genysis systems. Understand and embrace 5’S workplace organization standards. Promote Health & Safety policies and procedures. Adhere to continuous improvement, Preventative Maintenance and Standard Operating Procedures. Computer skills and completion of Grade 12 is considered an asset.
Required qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 is preferred.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Reliable.
• Has knowledge of Safety Awareness.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• A valid Journeyman Pressman certification with a minimum of 5 years’ experience at a Journeyman level.
• Organizational and prioritizing skills.
Bona fide physical requirements to carry out the duties of the role include; standing, walking, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds. Must be able to work 12 hour shifts. Part-time employees are not guaranteed any shifts. Part-time employees must maintain 1560 hours in any one (1) year (based on the employees anniversary of their date of hire) in order to receive benefits, those Part-time employees who do not maintain 1560 hours, shall be paid 12% of their regular straight earning in lieu of benefits provided they have successfully completed their probationary period.
