A Penticton city councillor and newspaper editor has been charged with historical sexual offences against youth in Ontario.
The Sarnia Police Service said Thursday it has charged James (Jim) Matthew Miller, 59, with two counts of sexual interference and two of sexual assault of a person under 16 related to incidents in 1989. The police service said it received a complaint earlier this year and had issued a Canada-wide warrant for Miller’s arrest.
“These offences occurred during a period when the accused volunteered as a youth basketball coach,” said Sarnia police in a news release.
Miller was arrested Thursday by officers from the Penticton RCMP detachment.
