It’s election season in B.C., here’s what you need to know:

1. What issues are workers facing in B.C. this election?

Everything workers have accomplished under the BC NDP is at stake in this election. From the highest minimum wage in Canada to fairer unionization laws, conservative leader John Rustad would take us backwards.

Rustad was in the Christy Clark cabinet for six years. We know exactly what he stands for: health care cuts, tax cuts for the rich, and ignoring the climate crisis. Nobody can afford John Rustad’s British Columbia.

Premier David Eby has shown he will support workers and our families. Here’s what he had to say to Unifor members at our Labour Day event this month:

2. When and where can I vote?

There are three methods to vote this election:

Vote By Mail

Voting by mail is available to all voters. There are no special eligibility requirements. Vote-by-mail package requests for the 2024 Provincial General election are now open.

Vote early (October 10–13, and October 15–16)

Advance voting takes place 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on October 10, 11, 12, 13, 15, and 16 (note: you cannot vote October 14). You can vote at any advance voting location. Click here to see a preliminary list of advance voting locations. Advanced voting locations will be updated before the election, so make sure to check this page for updates.

Vote on on Election Day (Saturday, October 19)

All Election Day voting locations are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

You can get more information about voting from Elections B.C.
